Surely all English teachers have already noticed about this.
For students, they may know the members of it but not certain under what heading is it?

Let's discuss about it then....

Noun: A noun is a word that names a person, place, or thing.

Examples:

(person) - Mr. ALi Fatikin is the headmaster of SMPN 2 Bojonegoro.
(place) - I left my notebook at school.
(thing) - I enjoy reading novel.


Verb: A verb is a word that shows action.

Examples:

(present time) My teacher teaches English well.
(past tense) I walked home from school yesterday.

Adjective: An adjective is a word that tells us more about a noun.

Examples:
My teacher is friendly

Adverb: An adverb is a word that describes a verb. It can tell how or when.

Examples:

(how) The snail walks slowly.
(when) I usually have an English course in the afternoon

Conjunction: A conjunction is a word that connects words in a sentence.

Examples:

Rama and Sinta are close friends.

Preposition: A preposition is a word that links and relates a noun or pronoun to another word in a sentence.

Examples:

SMP Negeri 2 Bojonegoro is situated at Jl. dr. Wahidin No. 82

Interjection: An interjection is a word that expresses emotion.
It is usually an exclamation that is followed by an exclamation point (!).Sometimes, an interjection is followed by a comma (,).

Examples:

Wow! That's wonderful.


Knowing about each part of speech will help you use words correctly when speaking and writing. Your communication skills will be enhanced.
